Peter Glazer started his law career as a deputy district attorney prosecuting criminal cases for Clackamas County District Attorney Jim O'Leary; Peter had been selected from over 60 candidates for one opening that fall. As a deputy DA, Peter became known as an aggressive trial lawyer and advocate for victims' rights. In 1982 Peter started his own practice helping individuals and small businesses with civil problems including personal injury, wrongful death, divorce and contract disputes.

In 1985 Peter and Steve Maurer (the firm was called Maurer & Glazer, P.C.) moved their offices to Kruseway Plaza to be the first law firm on prestigious Kruse Way. Soon, the Oregon State Bar moved its state headquarters nearby. Today, Steve Maurer is a Clackamas County Circuit Judge and there are hundreds of lawyers in firms on Kruse Way.

Peter's legal work is complemented by his involvement in the community; among his activities are Rotary and Royal Rosarians, the official greeters of Portland. Peter's past community activities include being president of the Rotary Club of Lake Oswego, co-chair of his children's junior high school parent organization, and co-chair of the Rotary Lobster Feed and Auction.

Peter served under four govenors (Gov. Atiyeh, Gov. Goldschmidt, Gov. Roberts and Gov. Kitzhaber) as Chair of the Governor's Advisory Committee on DUII, a volunteer citizen board dedicated to reducing the terrible problem of drunk driving. Peter stepped down at the end of 1999, after almost 18 years on the committee. When he retired from the committee, Peter took pride in the fact that total traffic fatalities in Oregon had dropped a whopping 25 per cent in just the last year (1999) of his service. Peter knows there is much still to be done to make our roads safe but he is proud of the accomplishments under his leadership. In April 2000 Peter was awarded the state's Crystal Award "for outstanding leadership and dedicated service."
